PI message
My main research topics including transmetalation between organometallic reagents and transition metals is a fundamental process involved in metal-catalyzed C-C bond-forming reactions. It is the first step in metal-catalyzed addition reaction and the second step in the metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. In this field, I have developed novel cyclic triolborate salts which have high reactivity for transmetalation to transition metal complexes. Moreover, I recently developed a new catalytic cycle starting from transmetalation for the addition reaction of organoboronic acids and their enantioselective versions using chiral catalysts. These researches led to a development of bidentate bisphosphoramidite (Me-BIPAM) as a new chiral ligand which resulted in high enantioselectivities.
